New private house on a vacant plot on the beachfront 20 minutes from Cape Town city centre. The house was designed for a young family whose brief was for a contemporary home with an emphasis on entertaining.

The house is constructed of insitu concrete & brickwork with large glass openings & sliding doors connecting internal & external spaces.

Spaces are positioned to create wind-free areas, to maximise solar exposure & shade at different times of the day & to encourage continuity between inside & outside.

Ground floor living & entertainment spaces are situated around the pool area & terraces with garage & service related spaces concealed to the side of the house.A guest suite & flatlet with seperate entrance are also located on the ground floor.First floor bedrooms & a study open up onto private courtyards & terraces with views towards the sea & over the living spaces below.
